For practical purposes, Twitter shows the latest news, traffic, weather conditions, restaurants, etc. It keeps you connected to what's going on outside of work. Keeping in contact with friends seems like the most popular way to use it. It would be nice to have it up on my web browser.
I think I could use it to do a book study and exchange ideas with my personal learning network.
